Football coach Villa-Boas crashes Dakar, in hospital

Former Tottenham and Chelsea manager Andre Villa-Boas crashed into the fourth stage of the Dakar Rally in Peru and was taken to a hospital with back pain. There is no information about his condition being worrying, but he stopped participating in the car race. The 40-year-old football coach moved 43th in the stage but hit a sand dune with his Toyota and his participation was over.


The Portuguese stood behind the wheel of the Toyota Hilux, and its driver was the former rider Ruben Faria, who has not missed the Dakar rally over the past decade. An interesting fact in the biography of Villa-Boas is his uncle`s participation in the rally marathon twice;in 1982 and 1984.
